28 Weeks (7 Months)

We registered yesterday. For baby stuff.
(I was just trying to think what happened yesterday morning.. I can't seem to remember. I know we went to Aldo's parents' house and made macaroni and cheese, and then after that went real quick to their library to print off some stuff, but I can't think what happened before that. And it makes me sooo mad because I know we had to wake up early to do it. !!! ... Aldo calls it "pregnancy brain". Must be. I have no other excuse.)
So anyway, we registered at Walmart afterward. I put together a list of the main things we would need, things I took from mommy websites and friends. We zoomed through that baby stuff... and Aldo was really into it. I saw a cute blanket. It was so soft, I wanted it bad. So I put on a pouty face and registered for it. Then Aldo said something like, "Oh, it's ok honey. Get as many blankets as you want. I want our kid to have a lot of them." I was seriously blown away. I just know I'm going to use them more than our baby is. :)

I'll have more for you soon,

27 Weeks, 3 Days

I went to a countdown website today because I forgot how far along I was.. woops. Found out some interesting info. I am 67% through my pregnancy and only have 33% left to go. Cool. I don't think I could last any longer than that. What is it??.. elephants carry their babies for like 2 years...

As for what I've been doing lately...
Financial class - We went this past Sunday and as homework had to make our first full out budget. We had like 3 "family meetings" but they didn't last long and we didn't fight at all. Interesting enough though, he had plans for some money that I didn't have plans for.

Family - This past weekend I didn't have to work at all so Friday I helped my mom and granddad out with their pinochle group. I made my first thing of twice-baked potatoes. Must say I'm better at the mashed. Then that night, surprise surprise... it snowed. In springtime! And so Aldo and I stayed at my mom's and then on Saturday, Aldo had to work all day, so I hung out with my mom and sister again. We played cards from 11 to 3 and then watched youtube videos until 6. That's when my mom decided to take me home. :) I still can't believe we didn't do anything.. because living at my mom's house I have never ever ever had a lazy day.
That's about all. Except today I finally cleaned out my car! I'm sure we could've survived this winter out of anything and everything in that thing. And I'm sure the reason my shocks and springs both went out at the same time was because the trunk was jam packed full of junk.

BABY NEWS... I think we have a name. We decided we won't tell anybody and we won't fully pick out the name until the day he's born.. so I can't tell you. Also, he is moving! And playing with me I think. On the way to work today, he stretched out and pushed against my stomach area. But he didn't pull away real quick like he usually does, he just left it stretched out. So I put my hand on it. And then he pulled away. As I was telling Aldo what had just happened, he popped me real quick in the same place where my hand was. That little stinker. It's going to be so strange having a baby. I'm just now getting used to the fact that there's someone else in my body.

25 Weeks, 4 Days

It's been a while since I've put anything on here. I honestly don't remember what I've been doing the last couple weeks. All well. So last Sunday we started Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace class through our church. I don't think Aldo was really into going to this class at first (something about his machismo, ego, whatever you call it), but now he's like "I never want to miss a class". I'll probably have more stories about that later.

Nothing much as been happening with the baby. He isn't moving as often or as hard as he was before. Not sure why, but Aldo says not to worry about it. I'm a mother! What am I supposed to do? Anyway, now that the reading challenge is over, I've been reading baby books like crazy. We're getting dates down for baby showers (excited about that). And soon we'll have to register somewhere. Eh. I hated registering for wedding stuff. We'd spend like an hour in the store and go back and forth over what kind or how many we wanted of the whatever. And whether it was useful or not. I have a blender that I still haven't used. And for some reason he wanted a clock. Oh dear. A clock? Are you serious? So we're registering for baby stuff now. Luckily I have it down to a list of necessity; now I can win any argument. HAHAHAA!

24 Weeks

Oh man I am soo bored right now. I'm stuck at work on a Saturday and the sun is finally starting to shine. No more sitting in the car waiting for the doors to unfreeze so I can close them... no more watching my step on sidewalks so I don't slip on the ice... no more worrying about other drivers and their crazy speeding... no more COLD period. I can't wait to just get in a swimsuit with my belly poppin out and swim at the pool or sit on the beach. I had this daydream a while back that I was at the pool with my son, rubbing sunscreen on his nose and arms and back. He looked so cute in his little trunks. Never saw the face though. Eager to have that daydream come true.

Anyway my biggest news of the week is from Friday. I took Aldo to his first doctor's visit he's had in a while. It's really hard to get a stubborn man to the doctor.... I think they're all scared chickens. Every time I go to my prenatal checkups, he makes fun of my face when they they take blood. I just don't much like needles. So during his visit he had to catch up on shots. He had 3 all the way down his arm. And so he tried to get me to baby him for the rest of the day. It didn't work...

23 Weeks, 4 Days

Today I broke my finger. :( Not really, but it sure felt like it. I was reading 30 Years of Garfield.. a huge book.. and accidently dropped it and when picking it up, bent my finger back and now it's all swollen and hurts real bad. Books... They ruin lives I tell you!

Aside from that.. today I realized that being a parent may get exhausting. I can barely get my socks on any more and it's really hard to shave. I'd go without if I could - nevermind. I'm going to stop that thought process right now. Ew. I also realized that I have a really wonderful husband. He made spaghetti last night and it was amazing. Tonight I'm eating leftovers! Woohoo... I've never been this excited for leftovers.

Kind of disappointed. I thought I might have something interesting to say.

23 Weeks, 3 Days

Today was a busy day. First, I read like crazy for this reading challenge at work. I'm up to 17,000 pages. My goal is 26,000 by Monday. Wish me luck. Then I worked out my taxes, signed some papers, and figured out the money spending for this month. It doesn't sound like much, but it took me 2 whole hours! Next, I went to the bank. YAY... "I got money in the bank, muh money in the bank". Finally made a quick stop at Wally World for some diapers. People are having babies like cRaZy! And I made it back home in time to make us some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and no-bake cookies. Yum.
I am at work right now, riding the last 10 minutes.. trying to check in everything and kick all these people out!

P.S. Today for the first time I saw my baby boy move! I was splurged out on the couch with my maternity pants on and I saw a little bump poke out real quick in the blue area that covers my belly. What a strong little man... oh, I'm gonna love him. :)

22 Weeks, 6 Days - Movies Men Like Venting

Note: Before reading anything, please note that everything below only applies to me. So don't take any offense if I dissed all your favorite movies.
There is a genre of movies called "Movies Men Like"... Movies ONLY Men Like While Women Would Like Nothing More Than To Destroy Them. So last night my husband and I went to Blockbuster to pick out a free movie. Recently I finally finished the Avatar series that he forced me to watch. So now I'd just like something relaxing, and for some reason last night I wanted to watch Blue Crush or Never Been Kissed. Not wonderful movies I admit, but not bad either. When we went in I looked through all the new releases and the only thing we hadn't seen was a horror movie. So I told him to get his scary movie. (I won't watch scary movies... and actually his friends just came in from out of town last week and we saw The Book of Eli and Wolfman. That second one is pushing it...) Anyways, he said he didn't want it because he wanted to get something I would watch with him. We went to the Comedy section and started throwing things out like Dumb & Dumber, Superbad, etc. Why would I want to watch that junk?! We ended up walking out with Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey. Ummm....
And on top of it, he told me it was an "intellectual" movie. Well, I'm sure it is if you have an IQ of nil. As an ending to this vent, I'll just put together a quick list of movies in this genre. These may be okay to watch with your buddies, but don't even think of bringing them home to your pregnant wife.
  • Bill & Ted movies
  • Harold & Kumar movies
  • Jay & Silent Bob movies
  • Scary Movie movies
  • American Pie movies
  • Grandma's Boy
  • SuperBad
  • Anchorman... actually anything with Will Ferrell... pretty much a genre in itself... Old School, Talladega Nights, Step Brothers, Semi-Pro, etc.
  • Dumb & Dumber (honestly this one is not so bad. I can deal, but must be in the mood)
  • Road Trip
  • EuroTrip
  • National Lampoon movies
  • and branching out to the TV shows... South Park, Family Guy, Futurama, King of the Hill, etc.
