24 Weeks

Oh man I am soo bored right now. I'm stuck at work on a Saturday and the sun is finally starting to shine. No more sitting in the car waiting for the doors to unfreeze so I can close them... no more watching my step on sidewalks so I don't slip on the ice... no more worrying about other drivers and their crazy speeding... no more COLD period. I can't wait to just get in a swimsuit with my belly poppin out and swim at the pool or sit on the beach. I had this daydream a while back that I was at the pool with my son, rubbing sunscreen on his nose and arms and back. He looked so cute in his little trunks. Never saw the face though. Eager to have that daydream come true.

Anyway my biggest news of the week is from Friday. I took Aldo to his first doctor's visit he's had in a while. It's really hard to get a stubborn man to the doctor.... I think they're all scared chickens. Every time I go to my prenatal checkups, he makes fun of my face when they they take blood. I just don't much like needles. So during his visit he had to catch up on shots. He had 3 all the way down his arm. And so he tried to get me to baby him for the rest of the day. It didn't work...

23 Weeks, 4 Days

Today I broke my finger. :( Not really, but it sure felt like it. I was reading 30 Years of Garfield.. a huge book.. and accidently dropped it and when picking it up, bent my finger back and now it's all swollen and hurts real bad. Books... They ruin lives I tell you!

Aside from that.. today I realized that being a parent may get exhausting. I can barely get my socks on any more and it's really hard to shave. I'd go without if I could - nevermind. I'm going to stop that thought process right now. Ew. I also realized that I have a really wonderful husband. He made spaghetti last night and it was amazing. Tonight I'm eating leftovers! Woohoo... I've never been this excited for leftovers.

Kind of disappointed. I thought I might have something interesting to say.

23 Weeks, 3 Days

Today was a busy day. First, I read like crazy for this reading challenge at work. I'm up to 17,000 pages. My goal is 26,000 by Monday. Wish me luck. Then I worked out my taxes, signed some papers, and figured out the money spending for this month. It doesn't sound like much, but it took me 2 whole hours! Next, I went to the bank. YAY... "I got money in the bank, muh money in the bank". Finally made a quick stop at Wally World for some diapers. People are having babies like cRaZy! And I made it back home in time to make us some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and no-bake cookies. Yum.
I am at work right now, riding the last 10 minutes.. trying to check in everything and kick all these people out!

P.S. Today for the first time I saw my baby boy move! I was splurged out on the couch with my maternity pants on and I saw a little bump poke out real quick in the blue area that covers my belly. What a strong little man... oh, I'm gonna love him. :)

22 Weeks, 6 Days - Movies Men Like Venting

Note: Before reading anything, please note that everything below only applies to me. So don't take any offense if I dissed all your favorite movies.
There is a genre of movies called "Movies Men Like"... Movies ONLY Men Like While Women Would Like Nothing More Than To Destroy Them. So last night my husband and I went to Blockbuster to pick out a free movie. Recently I finally finished the Avatar series that he forced me to watch. So now I'd just like something relaxing, and for some reason last night I wanted to watch Blue Crush or Never Been Kissed. Not wonderful movies I admit, but not bad either. When we went in I looked through all the new releases and the only thing we hadn't seen was a horror movie. So I told him to get his scary movie. (I won't watch scary movies... and actually his friends just came in from out of town last week and we saw The Book of Eli and Wolfman. That second one is pushing it...) Anyways, he said he didn't want it because he wanted to get something I would watch with him. We went to the Comedy section and started throwing things out like Dumb & Dumber, Superbad, etc. Why would I want to watch that junk?! We ended up walking out with Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey. Ummm....
And on top of it, he told me it was an "intellectual" movie. Well, I'm sure it is if you have an IQ of nil. As an ending to this vent, I'll just put together a quick list of movies in this genre. These may be okay to watch with your buddies, but don't even think of bringing them home to your pregnant wife.
  • Bill & Ted movies
  • Harold & Kumar movies
  • Jay & Silent Bob movies
  • Scary Movie movies
  • American Pie movies
  • Grandma's Boy
  • SuperBad
  • Anchorman... actually anything with Will Ferrell... pretty much a genre in itself... Old School, Talladega Nights, Step Brothers, Semi-Pro, etc.
  • Dumb & Dumber (honestly this one is not so bad. I can deal, but must be in the mood)
  • Road Trip
  • EuroTrip
  • National Lampoon movies
  • and branching out to the TV shows... South Park, Family Guy, Futurama, King of the Hill, etc.

21 Weeks (..Almost 5 Months..)

I'm kind of tired today. Not too much going on. Still working on this reading challenge; I have absolutely no motivation... Aldo's been bugging me with this "Eragon" audiobook (we have to listen to it EVERY SINGLE TIME we get in the car...) and second, the lady in first is now WAY in first.
Oh, yesterday I celebrated my sister's birthday. I picked out this really cute purple purse and a billfold and heart-shaped mirror to go inside. We went bowling with the immediate fam and my granddad. Let's just say, my balance was off from this pregnancy. I think my overall stat was an average score of 70. Oops. I learned that my granddad used to be on a bowling team. So you can imagine how far apart our scores were. Yikes.
And then I worked all night on the sister's hair. She's going to courtwarming tonight.. with a boy. Her dress is absolutely adorable with matching earrings and shoes and a hair do-dad thing... (that I helped pick out and mother actually approved of it all) - and now I shall transform her bum look that she has going into the delicate flower look. ...I'm thinking I should be a stylist. With how much she puts me through I could do it.
Well that's it for now. Later,
...

I'm hungry.

20 Weeks, 5 Days

Unfortunately mama and daddy got sick.

I've been fighting this cold since last Friday and oh my gosh, it just won't go away. It's like phlegm in the back of my throat and snot filling my nose and tons and tons of pressure behind my eyeballs. I don't know how I got this, but I'm tired of it.. and the other day the doctor told me that since I'm pregnant it may last longer than usual.. like three weeks instead of one. Are you serious??!!!??

So I'm at work and ready to go home. I love my bed. And my coach. I love them both. I don't say it enough. :(

20 Weeks, 4 Days

Turns out the little stinker is a BOY!! Oh goodness, what am I gonna do? Haven't really taken care of one of those before...lol

So I went to the ultrasound appointment with Aldo and we met up with his mom and my mom there at the doctor's office. The lady checked the vital stuff first. The heart was really neat. You could see the beat and the four chambers... aw. And then the lady said something about the baby having two kidneys. I look over at Aldo and ask quietly, "Are they supposed to have two kidneys?" I've only heard of one kidney people. Not two kidney people. So I thought WOW, my kid has a growth of some sort and made too many kidneys. But I wasn't sure. And since my husband knows everything there is to know... I asked him. My mom has been laughing about that ever since. It'll probably go into the Unwritten Book of Funniest Things I've Ever Said.

A little later she asked if we wanted to know the gender. OF COURSE we want to know the gender!!! So she skims around with her little pointer and slows down when she comes across a part of the screen that made me whisper.. "Oh man, I think I saw something." Just minutes before she asked if we wanted a boy or a girl and I answered that everyone thought we were having a girl and my mom blurts out, "We don't want a boy. We don't like boys." So she's skimming around, comes to that spot, and then keeps on going like she didn't see anything and doesn't say anything. After a while I ask, "Is it a boy?" She goes, "What makes you say that?" "Um.. I think I saw a little something." "Yeah, it's a boy. And he's not shy." So below are the pics taken of my proud little man. Ooh he's gonna love this when he's older. I'll be one of those mom's that flashes nice pictures of him to all his girlfriends.

He looks like a manatee with his little pot belly and flippers. And what a cute bottom!!

And more news. The other day, about 4:15.. he went nuts! He was kickin' and kneein' me like crazy. Aldo was by me on the coach and I told him to put his hand on my belly. He felt like 10-20 kicks at least! It was the most awesome thing to see... your husband finally be able to feel his child inside you. :) That will forever be one of my top memories.

Love you I do!
